Rinconcito, an evocative serenade by Nick Benavides commissioned by Left Coast with the generous support of Will and Linda Schieber

Warped Symmetry, a brilliant work by the award-winning Jimmy López

Zoltán Kodály's lush and dramatic Duo for Violin and Cello Op. 7

I find humor, pathos, and some darkness in the music. It’s a virtuosic, intriguing fusion: Jimmy integrates baroque techniques for making a solo instrument sound like multiple voices with his own unique harmonies, like traditional chords on steroids, stretched out so the intervals are wider .The title Warped Symmetries comes from the asymmetrical phrasing, like interrupted sentences.
