Acclaimed mezzo-soprano Betany Coffland will perform a recital program featuring works by Dvorak, Debussy, Rossini, Benavides and more, with piano accompaniment by Christine Payne. One performance only, in the Vukasin Theatre. In partnership with the Contra Costa County School for Performing Arts, three exceptional vocal students have been selected to precede her performance.

A graduate of the Juilliard School, Ms. Coffland made her Festival Opera debut in 2015 in Ariadne auf Naxos, and returned this season in Love, Lust & Laughter. She has performed with Opera San José and West Bay Opera, and as a soloist with the Oakland Symphony, the Sacramento Philharmonic, and Symphony Silicon Valley orchestras.
